Hi, I've been experiencing difficulties with my computer for the past two
months. Prior to October my computer was working fine, however it began to
restart suddenly while I was using it. I continued to use it even though it
was constantly shutting down on me, and then one time it wouldn't restart at
all, instead the green LED light kept flashing. I sent it to get fixed and
they replaced the motherboard for me, which allowed the computer to start as
normal, however it continued to restart or the BSOD would appear. I sent it
to get fixed again and my computer was rebooted, however it is still
constantly restarting and the BSOD appears, and if I am lucky the computer
will last 30 minutes before doing this. The BSOD changes all the time but it
usually states that the problem is due to a page fault in a non paged area,
and that it is caused by NDIS.sys or Win32k.sys .. I just wanted to know if
there was a problem with my hardware, as it has already been replaced, or is
there something wrong with my Windows, should I uninstall Service Pack 2?
Thanks in advance .. :)

Sounds like your computer repair technician didn't do such a great job.

As to what's going on with your machine, I'm not certain, but NDIS.sys is a
network driver.
However, a quick search on the net reveals that ndis.sys errors can be
caused by all kinds of things - for some, it was Norton Antivirus. For
others, it was their graphics card drivers [especially nVidia].
And of course it could also be a problem with the RAM chips.

I would check all those things - ie try uninstalling NAV if you have that,
a/o uninstall the graphics card drivers, and after a restart install a
freshly downloaded driver.
It would be helpful if you could give more information on the errors you get.

It could be that your processor is overheating - possibly due to a dead
fan or a build-up of dust inside the case.... A power supply problem is
also indicated due to the intermittent nature of the problems.

Where did you send it to have it fixed? When your motherboard was
replaced, did they install an exact duplicate or was it a totally
different board? Did they have to reload Windows for you? Is the
computer situated in a nice open area with lots of room around it for
air movement? Have you scanned for visuses and/or spyware?
