My computer has been infected , the windows icon give me this error message.
Dangerous malware infection was detected on your pc. the system will now
download and install most efficiend anitmalware program to prevent data loss
and your private information theft. click here to protect your computer form
the biggest malware threats.

I have ran a virus scan, I use microsoft anti spyware and ran that, i also
purchased and ran alert spy and spybot search and destroy. It is still giving
me this error message and takes me to the page from the windows icon to
purchase spyware. What can I do to fix this and if nothing else if I reformat
will that get rid of the infection? Thanks. Tonya

I've just recently encountered the same problem. Get a pop-up on the toolbar
saying "your computer is infected" and refers to spyware telling me I need a
spyware removal tool but when I use the spyware software I aready have it
doesn't detect anything. The warning message only disappears when I reset my
laptop but comes back at random intervals.

If you have a banner on your desktop, it is probably spy sheriff. I
had the same thing and was able to remove it but I didn't take notes.
I know you need to go to your task manager and stop the process, and
remove various files including winstall.exe. I just did a search for
spysherrif removal and was successful. Try to avoid any lengthy
solutions. I had to do only 3 or 4 procedures. Good Luck.
