Please help, XP Pro won't get past start up screen

Please, I need help quickly.

Suddenly my Windows XP Pro won't start up except in safe mode.

It runs through the system bios check but freezes at the blue screen taht
says "Windows is starting up...."

Then I have to restart.

I've tried virus scan, spy-ware scan, went through and uninstalled recent
software. Did a system restore, and even re-installed Windows.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Did you recently update a driver? If so go into the properties of that
device and roll back the driver.
