installed on it. Recently, I downloaded a program with additional drivers and
when I went to install drivers (with a box saying that the publisher could
not be verified) and the computer froze in a funny way, where the screen
seems to have a white veil on it and the screen becomes whiter and whiter
until the whole screen is totally white. Now everytime I start Windows this
keeps happening, usually just after I log in and if I start windows in Safe
Mode it comes up with an error screen saying that my computer has been
stopped to protect it and that windows is going to restart it and says that I
should chek my disk space and drivers. I also took laptop to shop and they
said that there is a hardware fault and I should take it back to where I
bought it from, but I would like to see if I can fix it myself. Does anyone
know how I can do it? I am really desperate.
Thanks.
What "Exactly" did you download... without this info it's really hard to
guess what may have happened.
If by chance it is good software but the drivers were faulty then
repairing the system with the proper drivers from the Toshiba website
may fix the problem. You may have tried to force an install of drivers
that were not needed anyway.
Can you find the software in add/remove programs... (Control panel /
install / uninstall a program) and remove it? Good or bad you probably
need to do this and try again if the install locked up.
