Please Help- Unmountable boot Vol.

When computer is turned on, the XP screens starts then
goes to blue screen with white letters stating:
"Unmountable Boot Volume".

I've tried safe mode but it still doesn't boot up.

Please help.

Power off, open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at
both ends.
If that fails:

Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and
download their hard drive diagnostics.
