Please help, probable hard drive fraud

Call the police. If necessary, call the police in *his* home town.

Advice like this pisses me off because it's no advice at all. The police
won't do jack shit about this, it's a civil case. To the OP, since you paid
by MasterCard, dispute the charge when you get the bill. Of course
MasterCard will first ask that you try to work it out with the seller.
Have you asked the seller to take back the drive and refund your money? I
see nothing on the auction page that says as-is or no refunds, so you
should at least attempt to get a refund. Whatever you do, do not pay the
charge on your bill, write a letter to MasterCard briefly explaining the
situation. As long as the charge is in dispute, you won't be hit with
finance charges. Don't bother going to PayPal to resolve the issue, those
guys are a joke.

Not if its fraud it isnt.

Unlikely thats going to happen and he is under no legal
obligation to do that if he claims its as described anyway.

Doesnt need to since its ebay.
so you should at least attempt to get a refund.

Fat chance if its fraud.

So are you.

If this is English Law it could be both civil and criminal. Civil under
contract law and criminal under fraud (attempting to gain a pecuniary
advantage by deception). Whether the police take any notice is another
matter.

It was: Item number: 130066769089. The seller was:
nauheimercool123.

He has another drive up for auction, same capacity but says it's a SATA.
Item number: 130073330058

You haven't left him negative feedback yet, maybe you should do that so
another person doesn't get burned. OTOH, maybe the seller didn't know the
"Brand new still in box never opened" was a fake drive? Is the guy going
to take back the drive and give you a refund?

I would like to hear from the original poster regarding what his progress has
been.
