Dear sir/madam
My application developed with foxpro 2.5 for DOS and
running perfectly under Windows 98 but under Windows XP
module giving "USE OF TRANSGRESSED HANDLE" error.
if any body have solution please help me.
Thanks
Did you code this application yourself? Or is this an application that
you like to use coded by someone else? I can't tell from your post. In
any case, it sounds like the application is trying to interact directly
with hardware or the operating system in a forbidden way. NT-kernel
based operating systems (NT, Win2k, WinXP) will not allow this. If your
application will not run in XP's emulation mode (look up "Compatibility
Mode" in XP's Help & Support), you have a few choices:
1. If you are the coder, you will need to rewrite the app so it works
with XP. There are lots of developer resources available from MSDN. I'm
sure there are other great sources too, but since I'm not a coder I
can't point you there myself.
2. If someone else wrote the code, see if there are any patches or an
updated version that will run in XP. If it is a custom coding job, have
the programmer write you a new version.
3. Find another app that is compatible with XP that will do what you
want.
4. Keep a computer around that is running Win98 for this app.
Good luck,
Malke
