After doing those steps I realized my Windows XP Home
Edition's Theme was no longer there and everything was set
to a Windows 98 type theme with the boxed toobars and
stuff, I've tried to get more help and coming back for
help later doing every step possible.. and yesterday (June
17th) I was givin thease instructions by yet another
eMachine's tech operator:

"To reinstall Windows manually, click "Start" then "Run"
then type in "c:\windows\i386\winnt32.exe" and click okay.
This brings up the manual windows install.

Disregard the message about the "Option to Upgrade is not
available."

You need to agree to the license agreement to continue
reinstalling windows.

It then asks you to get the Microsoft Product ID Key,
which is located on the back of the CPU Tower.

Just click next after that, except to SKIP the option to
download updates over the internet.

It should take roughly 60 minutes to reinstall windows
manually. It runs mostly by itself from this point."

After doing that overnight i woke up and completed the
steps. Then after the computer restarts I have 2 options
to start "Windows XP Home Edition" then under
that "Windows XP Home Edition" now the option on top has
the theme I needed from the begining but the one below it
is the original one and still dosen't have the theme..
when i want to open in safe mode i still have to pick
between the two "Windows XP Home Edition" options can
somone help me here, the eMachine Tech people are now
saying "Their not advised to give this kind of
information". Can somone help me...anyone?..Bill Gates?..

Ronnie,

Run msconfig. Start - Run - "msconfig" - On the BOOT.INI tab, Check All Boot
Paths. That will eliminate your unwanted selection, if I understand what you're
asking for.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
