Please help me send emails

will someone help?
I can recieve email but won't send at all. Just set it up and not sure wht
to do to resolve it.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

Account: 'pop.clara.net', Server: 'relay.clara.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '550 relay not permitted', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Did you set up the account in accordance with the following site?

It describes Outlook Express settings, but Windows Mail is exactly the same.

Also please note the following passage from that page:

"Please note that if you are connecting to the internet using another
provider please enter the outgoing SMTP server for that provider.
Alternatively relay.clara.net can be used when you are connected to another
provider. This can be achieved by first completing the wizard, then clicking
on tools, accounts and then selecting properties for the newly created
account. Under the Servers tab please ensure that "My server requires
authentication" is ticked and then click on the Settings button. On that
window please make sure that "use the same settings as my incoming mail
server" is selected."

Thank you,
I can now send email after ticking ''my server requires authentication'' &
''use the same settings as my incoming mail'' BUT, It now wont recieve, I'm
getting:

Account: 'pop.clara.net', Server: 'pop.clara.net', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR Invalid command', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

Any idea?

By any chance, do you have "Log on using Secure Password Authentication"
checked?
Try un-checking that option on the account server tab if so.

Go through the settings page again
http://www.claranet.co.uk/support/setting-up-outlook-express.html and double
check all the recommended settings.
