PLEASE HELP ME - deleted user/admin(?) account

BOY AM I DUMB!!!

It seemed I had 2 admin accounts on my desktop xp pro sp1.

I decided to delete one because I thought it was an "extra" admin
account that got created in the past.

I deleted it thru the computer management console.

The accounts that were listed were:

Administrator - Built in account for administering...
user_name - [no description] (I believe this account was a member of
the Admin group.)

The user_name is the account I deleted. I think the system said it
needed to restart and when it did, my profile settings were gone.
Somehow in between there I had renamed the [built-in] Administrator
account to the user_name.

I tried a system restore, comp said there were no changes made. I
tried the restoration.exe app and it crashed every time I ran the
search. I tried running the app from a memory stick and also from the
desktop.

I don't know if it has anything to do with this, but I keep getting
alerts saying there are changes trying to be made to the registry and
do I want to let it or deny it. I hope it doesn't mean it is writing
over my old registry settings.

Can I get my files back? It was my entire user directory under
G:\Documents and Settings\user_name. The hard drive is partitioned
with the system files on D:\ and the rest on G:\

:(

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance,

Sarah

To have any real chance of recovering any deleted data, you must immediately
remove the drive and re-attach it to another system that has data recovery
software installed, AND does not have System Restore monitoring that drive
AND has more than enough space to contain your entire hard disk.

Set the data recovery software to read your disk and write to its disk.
Under no circumstances should anything be allowed to write to your disk.

You can also do this by replacing the drive in your system with a new one
and installing the data recovery software to it. Or, you can take the
drive to a recovery service, but this can be expensive; the bills I see
from this are usually $1,000 and up.
