please help i dont know who else to ask

my com at start up comes up with

Windows Error
General Protection Fault Error , pelease delete file,

i cant find any file to deleat and dont know what to do

this happoned before and i only got the com back from shop 2 days ago from
being re done--a virus got on the computer but i beleave i got rid of it

the com store says aol stops antivirus software from working properly and so
will let things through and onto the com---i am using norton internet
security 2004 with win xp home is this true and how can i stop this
error message from coming up every time i start the com--is this serious

thank you for sending the info it has been usefull but unforctunitly after
attempting to do as it states still got problem--i am assuming my registry
is messed up i know reformatting windows fixes the problem but as soon as
online again viruses get on and this occures yet again it is getting
annoying at best well thanks jason

adding this for if anyone else gets this--i looked into my norton firewall
setings allow or not allow and seen winampa either .exe or .tmp this
was loading at start up and was conected with win system 32 in registry files
i gor rid of this and have no more bother now the com is working great
again----- the winamapa file seemed to be connected with zonealarm not
sure if that is part of norton or not.

dont know if it was good to get rid of that file but everything is working
ok now and appears stable again jc
