Please help - I can't make my CDs compatible

Hi guys
I save pics onto CDs to give them to other people or get them processed,
etc, and this has worked fine in the past.
My PC automatically formats the blank CDs with something called 'Sonic
Format' and explains at that point that when you've finished writing to the
CD you need to select 'make compatible' to finish the CD writing.
However, when I have finished copying images onto the CD, I can't get the
'Make Compatible' prompt. It's supposed to be among the options that come up
if you right-click the CD driver file. I do this, but the option doesn't
come. What can I do? Needless to say the CDs can't be read on other computers.
Any help welcomed, Ricky

don't have a clue about that sonicware.
but basically, you can manage the file
space on the cd as simple as managing
the file space on the harddrive.

the use of a cd by windows requires
1) formatting
2) coping file(s) onto it
3) burning those copied files onto the cd, (unless it is a re-writable cd or
dvd)

if you are using the software to do what windows
already is able to do, then you may want
to omit using that software and make life
a bit easier.

if you still want to use that software,
then check it's parent website for
faq's and or patches or updates.

possibly, that program is no longer
compatiable with the ever changing o.s.
due to enhancements, securities, etc...
who know that program you have been
accustomed in using may in fact have been
designed as a spyware.

i too had a program for use
with my drawing tablet and it
had a bunch of neat stuff. But i
came to find out, that it was designed
to be spyware. And it was one of
thousands of softwares that were built
with spyware technology that overwhelmed
computer systems around the world. Thus
the anti spywares technology were born.

Double check to see if there is a real
purpose in using that program. Their
website should provide you with more data
as well.

As a last ditch effort to overcome the obsticle
you have, right click on the executiable icon
and change it's compatiability mode to an
older o.s.

"maybe" this might help.......

I get that message when I perform the software eject function in Roxio Drag
to Disk. There are entirely too many of these software packages for anybody
to be really familiar with all of them. So, in short, I can't help you with
your software (which I don't recognize).

thanks so much for that. i'm so dumb that i never even thought that sonic was
a different software - i just ok'd the default format option. i didn't
realise it was some other software. i guess there's an option for me to
format usiong the windows stuff - then i can just click and drag the files
onto the CD, right?

yeh,

usually it's much easier with staying within the
realm of microsoft since they are the absolute
expert/authority on the o.s. we use n luv.

however, there are many softwares that exceed
the ability of microsoft and empower
the o.s. much more than microsoft has
done.

In most cases regular users who need regular
ability with the o.s. don't need the fancy
software available. But fortunately
they are out there if we need them.
