Please help EXCEL NOT SAVING and Spreadsheet check needed

hi im a little stuck on 2 areas and think its beyond my levels but maybe you
can help.

i have a link to an excel spread sheet utilising the hyperlink function this
works fine believe it or not. it opens the excel sheet and allows viewing and
editing but........... it wont allow me to save any of the data inputted i
believe this is because its a read only but how do i fix?

there is also a table called staff but with the main system for the staff
constantly changing and another system all together, i have created an excel
spreadsheet to download the information from the main staff system and using
macros format it to be usefull in the access database i created. how do i run
checks to see if the staff in the excel spreadsheet have moved teams from the
information stored in my staff table in access. the staff have a field called
id this id is unique to the staff member and can be found on both systems any
idea

Dear Rivers:

May I recommend you try to use one of the Microsoft newsgroups that
specialize in Excel programming? This one if for a different product called
Access.
