Is there a way to make a webpage to display a video or music
"FROM THE SERVER" in another words the video / music
will not be downloaded to the client ( user's ) pc ?

Thanks

No. Everything that is appears in the browser is downloaded. What you are looking for is a streaming
media server (service)

The media source would need to come from a media server, not
a website.

Web servers using IIS do not stream, they progressively
download the media.
Windows Media Server will stream the file for you.

Everything a user views on the web will end up on their PC - that's where all the
junk in your temp internet files comes from - previously visited pages - the web
cache exists to provide faster access to sites previously visited and it will
then only download the change pages, otherwise displays the cached pages.

What format are the files you want to play - MPG, Real Media, Windows Media
Player, Quicktime etc
depends - some formats can be "streamed" and some have to be downloaded first.

Ok folks, 10000000 of thanks, yes I know that all the junk goes into the
temporary folder, but I dont know much about this on web pages
so I tough was a technic to do this.

So the keyword is STREAMING.

I will look into my server "Webmasters" and see.

Again, thanks a million.

Orlando,

The technique to use is to use a media server for the
content, and not a web server.
