playing movies

I have inserted a movie (mpg file) into my presentation, and when I view it
on my computer, the slide and movie play fine. When I attach the computer to
a projector, the movie clip plays on my laptop screen but does not play on
the projector screen - it simply remains a black box. I have also inserted
an AVI file, and this plays fine when the slide appears. What am I
missing???
