Playing dvds

I have a Toshiba Tecra 8000 Laptop With swapable bay. I
never used the dvd player before and want to without much
luck (Intel pent 3- 498MHZ/ 256mb Ram/ XP Home), from
Toshiba,Microsoft and third party DVD decoder retailers
all say it should not be a problem but I cant seem to find
the easiest compatible way.If theres any one out ther that
can help I would be gratfull and would like to ask more
questions by the thread if needed. Thanks; Tim

You need a Windows Media Player plug-in to play Hollywood
movies because of the way they are coded.
