Play Selection Button doesn't work in Window Music Task Pane

I have 4 Windows XP machines with Windows MediaPlayer v9
installed, and all Windows updates installed

On 2 of the computers in a regular directory Window I can
select a folder of WMA's and on the left hand pane
of "Show Common Tasks in Folder" view I can press
the "Play Selection" button and Medial Player starts up
and plays the contents of the folder/directory

However, on 2 of the computers this button does not work,
it appears to be "dead" or not linked. I have searched
Media Player and Folder options and I cannot find a
setting to enable this functionality

Can you help me enable this functionality? I can't
believe it works on 2 computers and not the other 2
