Play Ipod through computer speakers?

Is there any way I can play my Ipod through a computer's speakers by
plugging the Ipod into my soundcard or any other way?
 
Plug a mini plug from iPod headphone jack to either "line in" or
"microphone" on your sound card. Make sure that input is not "muted" in
Windows.
