Plain text font. How to change?

I made some repears in Windows with Norton systemworks and this changed the plain text font in "courier new" font. When I open the "internet options" window to change the font type, in the plain text font box were only 2 font types; the "courier new" and the "Lucida Console". I tried to find how I can add other fonts but it wasn't possible. Could you please advise me how I can add "times new roman" font in the plain text font box, cause the Courier font is so annoying

You can't add Times New Roman to the plain text fonts as it is not a
monospaced font.
Thera are few monospaced fonts available but search for one and
install it.
