Plain text font. How to change?

I made some repears in Windows with Norton systemworks and this changed the plain text font in "courier new" font. When I open the "internet options" window to change the font type, in the plain text font box were only 2 font types; the "courier new" and the "Lucida Console". I tried to find how I can add other fonts but it wasn't possible. Could you please advise me how I can add "times new roman" font in the plain text font box, cause the Courier font is so annoying
