placing picture on e-mail

I'm trying to send a picture with my email without having to attach it. The
picture is located on a web page. Whats the proper way to write the html
code. I think I go into the source code on the email and put the web address
to where the picture is located but I'm doing something wrong.
http://www.mywebsite.com/mypicture? Thanks in advance
