Place a signature in a word document

How do I place a scanned signature in a word document so that it aligns with
other text?
 
Format the inserted signature as "behind text" in Layout options,
and drag it to the desired position on the page.
 
Or edit the scanned image to remove as much white space as possible from
around it then insert the image in line with text.
- autotext or autocorrect make insertion easier.
