hmmm. . . Day 2 and not one program in sight. . . this is not good. . . It was a whole different
story when all you guys had to do was post a list of program names. IMO you are a bunch of lazy
sods. You're all hanging back hoping somebody else will do the descriptions of your favorite
programs for you.

This is a GROUP project. I can't do my job until you guys do yours.

This is a "gentle reminder" that I have to input ALL the program descriptions. Last year 368
programs were nominated. I cannot do 368 descriptions in one day - I need a BACKLOG of posted
program descriptions NOW if I'm to have them all on-line when the nominations period begins.

What is UBCD for Windows?

UBCD4Win is a bootable CD which contains software that allows you to
repair/restore/diagnostic almost any computer problem. All software
included in UBCD4Win are freeware utilities for Windows®.
UBCD4Win uses Bart's PE© to boot into a Windows®
"pre-install" environment, basically Windows® booted
from CD. With network support, the ability to modify NTFS volumes,
recover deleted files, create new NTFS volumes, scanning hard drives
for viruses, etc. this project is almost everything you need to

2: UBCD4WIN Configuration Tool (still beta but released to the public)

(Working the bugs out right now. Versions likely to change)

"This is a utility that configures and builds UBCD4WIN for you. All
you really have to do is download and extract UBCD4WIN to any folder
that you choose then download this utility to that folder and run it.
It'll do everything else for you from downloading/extracting pebuilder
to downloading/installing the latest driver pack to building the iso
and burning the cd. You can even preview it with QEMU before it's
burned to cd.

Some of the things that it lets you configure are Keyboard Layout,
Screen Resolution, Desktop Wallpaper, Network Settings, Enable/Disable
Plugins, Enable/Disable Drivers, and more (just download it and try it
to see).

This is release #51 so you can imagine how many hours have gone into
developing this so thanks to all the betatesters (I'll mention
everyone's names later) and I hope I don't offend anyone but
Dirkgently42, Lawson23 and DigiWiz deserve a BIG thanks for all of the
"extra" time you put into helping with this project.

Remember that it's still in beta stages so please report any
suggestions/requests/bugs.

As of right now, the current version is 2.0.0.13"

Well, it looks like the config tool is going to be distributed with
the next release of UBCD4Win. This will make the CD creation process
much simpler! After extracting the self extracting UBCD4Win file, run
the config tool. This tool will use download tools included in the
main file to download other files required for the project! It will
extract each file to the proper location. It also updates AV scanners,
Adaware, Spybot, etc. before the bootable CD is created.

UBCD4Win v2.55 is just about to be released. Consider this a
placeholder. I'll get the current version information in asap. It will
take a few days for us to check the new release for errors. The
addition of the config tool is going to be awesome for this great
project.

PersonalEdition Classic Windows Betatest "Incremental VDF-Update"

If you are an AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic Windows user you can now
take part in the beta testing for the so called "incremental VDF
update".

What is the incremental VDF update?

Up to now all VDF updates have been made available in one large VDF
file. In the future this large VDF file will be split up into one
larger base VDF and several smaller VDF files. The large VDF file is
usually downloaded only once and then gets updated regularly (daily,
weekly, monthly) with smaller VDF files that are only a few hundred KB
in size. Thus the size of the VDF as well as the time needed to
download the file will be drastically reduced.
