Pivot Table Error

I have successfully (I think) created expressions in the design view of a
query. I get an error, however, when I try to create a pivot table that uses
these new expressions. In the "layout" step of the pivot table wizard, I get
a message that says "Problem Obtaining Data". (I'm able to create pivot
tables without a problem when I pull data from fields from the original
table.) I believe I am using Access 2000.

Can you come up with a minimal set (small Table and related Query) that
produce the behavior that you saw? That would help in reproducing your
problem.

Thanks much for the followup message -- While preparing to create a small
table as you suggested, I noted there were a few instances when I got Errors
when creating the expression. I believe this may be what was causing the
pivot table troubles. Again, thanks.
