Hi all. I have an excel file that was given to me by someone else and they are still able to access it when they want. I had previously been able to open the file and edit it, but now when I try to open it, Excel crashes and needs to "Repair" the file. I believe it is crashing when "Updating Fields" in the pivot table within the file. The pivot table is linked to some external data, in case that makes a difference.
Anyone have ANY suggestions as to what might cause this crash?
I think I can fix it by allowing Excel to repair itself and then relinking the pivot table to the source file but I'd really like to know why this happened.
