pivot table & chart on same worksheet

Using the same source data, how can I create a pivot table and pivo
chart on the same worksheet?:rolleyes

try the following
- create your pivot table
- on this sheet select an empty cell (outside the pivot table)
- Invoke the chart assistant
- manually enter the data range
- finish the assistant and choose 'this sheet' as target

This doesn't work. I get a message that says "you can't overla
tables", even though I selected 'pivot chart' from the chart assistant

Hi
Don't slect pivot charts from the assistant. Choose a normal chart for
this

Create your pivot table
Select a cell in the pivot table
Click the Chart Wizard button.
A column chart will be automatically created on a chart sheet
Right-click on the chart, and choose Location from the shortcut menu
Select 'As object in', and select the pivot sheet from the
dropdown list
Click OK
