pirated xp professional

I was informed that I have a pirated copy of XP
Professional loaded on my cpu. With all the versions of
XP, which is the best for me to purchase to be "legal"?
There are so many products numbers to chose from-oem,
full version etc. Is it possible for me to buy a license
only & change product code on my cpu? Is there any way
that I casn contact Microsoft directly to ask them
without extra problems because this is a pirated version?

Greetings --

If you are trying to install Service Pack 1a and getting the
following:

The Product Key Used to Install Windows Is Invalid

You need to purchase and use a _legitimate_ full retail copy of
WinXP Pro to perform a repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade) installation,
using the new CD and Product Key.

How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade of Windows XP

Remember, you should also report whomever sold you the pirated
software to the pertinent law enforcement agencies; you've been
defrauded.

Read what Brian has said. You could have a you could have a valid
key.

I read what others have said in this group. They bought a legal
version of xp at reputable place.
