This might help you. a) Start ---> Run b) Type "devmgmt.msc" c) Go down to the "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" section d) Double click the entry for "Primary IDE Channel", or, "Secondary IDE Channel", based on the channel based on the device you want to change e) Look on the Advanced Settings tab f) Make sure "DMA if available" for the "Transer Mode" is set for both Device 0 and 1.
