Pinned programs

I need to change the pinned start menu programs to have certain applications
for my users. Where are the pinned programs located? Can I change them with a
reg key or file?

Thanks for that info. Another question:
Is it possible to edit the binary info without replacing the whole key. I
just need to add one application to the pinned menu to users.
