I have set up a wireless network at home and the computer with the wireless
adapter now will not allow me to connect to the internet although it shows a
connection. when I try to do a ping the black screen comes up for a second
then goes away. When I do get a dos screen, it says ping is not a command. I
can not scan my computer in Windows Home help either. Any quick solutions?
Thanks

Open a Command Prompt and use the PING command inside the Commad Prompt (which BTW is NOT
DOS.).

David, hence the problem, my command line won't reconize the ping command or
the ipconfig or any other command.

What EXACTLY is the error message you get when you open the Command Prompt and within the
Command Prompt you type;

ping 127.0.0.1
