ping problem

I'm using Windows XP on two systems that are on LAN. I am having a
wierd problem, in that, Host A can ping Host B but not the other way
round.

Any idea what could be the problem?

Hi,

Check firewall settings in advanced for ICMP. By default allow incoming echo
request option is clear - not selected.

Actually I have done that. Even disabled firewall and checked it.

Check to see if you are using DHCP. If not, then verify your subnet mask and
gateway address in both systems to match.

And the last thing, if you have Norton, it has a port blocking function that
kicks in and stays on for 30 minutes each time.

Lastly try download and run WinSock XP Fix
