Ping of Death

Hi one of our Servers is doing a regular ping of death, on other machines
in the network, any ideas on how to prevent this happening.

ping of death?? i assume you mean it is pinging everything on the network
continuously and using up the bandwidth.... go scan for viruses and worms.

Hi Dave.

As mentioned, that computer is probably compromised and should be checked ASAP.

Two tools that may help are TCPView and Process Explorer which are free from
SysInternals. TCPView will show what process/executable is mapped to a port and
Process Explorer will give more detailed info on the process. --- Steve

We have McAffee installed and running and it reports nothing

Then update the virus definitions and try again or install Symantec or some
other AV package and try it.
