David, when I run "regsvr32 zipflfr" I get a message that states: Load
Library "zipflfr" failed - The specified module could not be found.

Type in start run

sfc /scannow

and repeat the regsvr32 zipfldr after that.

Does sfc do essentially a Repair install, only from the I386 folder?

The reason I ask is that a Repair install is documented to lose all
my Registry settings. I'm leery of doing that except in the last
resort.

No it doesn't. It checks file signatures and replaces corrupted files.

Thanks David, works now. how do i repair (or change or add) my other
new file templates, for example new text file template is missing.

Go to Add / Remove Programs - Windows Components - Accessories and Uninstall Document Templates then install them.
