I use XP Pro and in the past have created a Compressed (Zipped) folder and
password protected it. Now I want to do two things.
1. I would like to add a folder to the Compressed folder.
2. Create a new compressed (zipped) folder. When I double-click a folder I
want to compress and then click File|New I do not find the option to create
a new compressed (zipped) folder.

Can anybody help me on one or both of these?
Thank you.

Start, Help and Support, search term Zip Folder, pick the operation you
want to do, read the instructions.

Bob,

To add a folder to an alreday compressed file in XP Pro, you will have to
uncompress the file, then add your new folder and recompress it. There is no
other way to do that. To create a new zip or compressed folder out of other
folders, simply right click the file the select send to. This first option
in that drop down is compressed (zipped) folder, or if you have the file open
you can go to File|New, at the buttome of the list you should find the
compression option.

Thanks,
HondaELP

Thank you HondaELP. That was exactly what I needed. The help and support
pages told how to do File\New, but not Send To|Compressed Folder. Thanks
for the help. Could you also remind me how to password protect the
Compressed Folder. I have found how to Encrypt it, but that is not what I
am after.
Thanks again.

Thanks HondaELP. I found the place on the web where I learned this last
time. For others sake, I will post the link here.

Dont add passwords to .zips. You will only be posting back in 6 months
or so asking for a way to get around the password you forgot, or forgot
to write down.
