Dear Microsoft Friends

I have a computer on the Network using Windows 2000 and at
the Command Prompt, any networking commands do not work,
i.e. Ping [IP number] or IPConfig /all.

Does anyone know how to reset this?

With much thanks
Regards
Jeffery

What do you mean by "do not work"?
Not found?
Cannot resolve names?
Give an error? What error?

Can you ping 127.0.0.1? If not, then IP is either not installed
properly or not initialized and bound to an adapter (usually
that is a duplicate IP detected or perhaps you havn't configured
your IP settings?)

Control Panel|System|Advanced|Environment Variables|System Variables and
make sure that "Path" has
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%
at least somewhere in the string.

Else check that "Path"
found at
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment
is a type Reg_Expand_Sz string and not type Reg_Sz
