pinball.exe maxes out athlon 3000?

From Task Manager I can see that playing the standard pinball game that
comes with windows 2000 maxes out my Athlon 3000XP with Geforce 5200 gfx
card.

That surely can't be right?

it sure can be right. the maker of the game, maxis, knows NOTHING about
programming, apparantly, and managed to write a very CPU-intensive game.
so much so, in fact, that it will eat all the left-over CPU time.
scary... ~_~
