"Pin to Start Menu"?

Every time I attempt to Pin a program to Start Menu upon the next boot up
the item is removed. Also the items that I deleted from the Start Menu
return upon boot up.

Any ideas?

You might have managed to disable the saving of changes at logoff.

I'm not familiar with the term "Pin". Exactly how are you "pinning" your
program to the start menu? Are you using Start..... Settings..... Task Bar
and Start Menu... to "pin" your shortcut? Or are you simply trying to
"pin" a program using Start... Programs? That won't feed the bulldog.
