Pin to Start Menu Crashes explorer.exe

BadHead

Hi,

Simple question, echoing the title of my message:

Every time I choose to Pin or Unpin a icon to the start menu, explorer.exe
crashes, and the starts up again momentarily.

Upon checking Event Viewer, I see that the file Msvbvm60.dll is involved.
The version I have of this file is 6.0.89.64., although I should have the
later 6.0.87.82 release as I installed VBRun60 Sp6 and this later version
is inclued with that. I tried to download it again, but the link is missing
from Microsoft. Any idea where I could get it? Could this be causing my
problems?

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

BadHead :)

Hi BadHead,

This is most likely a shell extensions problem. Trying "Method 2" in the
following page doesn't hurt.

Ignore the article title anyway.
