pictures won't display

E

Eric

Pictures aren't displaying in PowerPoint or in Word. The
blank box with a small "X" in the top left corner displays
instead. Sometimes the thumbnail displays the picture.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Is there any chance that you might have an antivirus program running?
Perhaps Norton is trying to protect the office document by not showing the
picture.

Because it is multiple office programs, I would think that it is a system
problem rather than a PowerPoint one. Is your video driver up to date?
What version of Direct X do you have installed. Is the system overloaded?

Are the pictures embedded, linked or linked over a network? Can the system
get to them?

What format are they in?

Are you using the viewer, or the full version of PowerPoint? What version?
Are the red x's in edit view or in presentation view?

Is there any pattern to the dropped pictures? Does anything make it happen
more often?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but we need to know information to
suggest proper solutions.
