Pictures/video doesn't match music - please help!

I'm having a very annoying issue that I cannot find any answers to. Hopefully
you guys can help me.

I am making a movie with pictures and video clips, set to music. The problem
is, when I try to seek to the middle of the movie to edit timing and whatnot,
the music doesn't match up to the point of the movie that I am watching. But
if I watch it from the beginning, the music matches up fine. So I can't seek
to a certain point in the movie to edit transitions with the beat of the
music without watching the whole movie from the beginning.

I hope that makes sense. Is this a common problem? How can I fix this? This
is the second movie I've made like this and it did the same thing with the
first one too. I'd really appreciate any help you can offer!

Yes it's a common issue when you try to use a video file in Movie Maker that
has MPEG2 or MPEG4 compression. You should convert such files to those that
work frame by frame in Movie Maker.

I didn't think my question posted yesterday, so I posted again, and then
found this one.

Thanks for your reply! I've made movies that are just picture slide shows
(no video), and if I seek to the middle of it, the music still doesn't match
up. But if I watch it from the beginning, it does. So I don't think it's a
problem with my videos - it's something weird with WMM or the music or
something.
