Pictures not appearing in e-mail messages

D

David

I'm using Outlook 2007 and IMAP. In Trust Center --> Automatic Download, I
have "Don't download pictures automatically..." unchecked. Am I missing
some other setting that would prevent pictures from appearing? I see
pictures when I access my e-mail at the ISP's web interface or when I
forward Outlook e-mail to accounts that I access using other e-mail client
software.

Thanks much for any assistance,

David

Does it appear in Plain Text mode or in HTML. Is your Outlook set to Rich Text(RTF). If it is then change it to HTML or Plain Text

Peter,

Thanks for your reply.

I have Message format set to HTML. I changed it to Rich Text but this did
not fix the problem. In any case, Message format applies only to outgoing
message composition and has no bearing on the presentation of incoming
messages.

I usually receive pictures in my e-mails, but the last one I received only
has boxes with little res "X"s where the pictures should be. It's a
forwarded message. The person that forwarded it can see the pictures, but I
can't

I have a similar problem. Outlook has stopped displaying graphics in all
messages. I checked and I do not have display graphics turned off. Outlook
used to display my graphics, but stopped doing it a while back.

I've looked over this discusion and can't find anything that applies to
Outlok 2007 and my problem.

Is there a solution for this?

Thanks.

Hey MacMadMan,

You described it well. Outlook 2007 used to display pictures but stopped.
In my case, there's no "red X" - just empty boxes where there should be
pictures. I also do not have "Don't download pictures automatically..."
selected but they're not displayed, even if they are downloaded.

You're right - there is nothing in this discussion that identifies a likely
cause for this problem. Let me know if you solve it; I'll do the same.

David,

I do have the red X in the empty boxes where the graphics should be. I also
have the "download graphics" in the email header area, but it doesn't do
anything.

I sure wish someone had an answer to this.

If I ever figure it out, I'll post the solution.

Brian,

I looked there, but when I check on my c:\ drive there is not a
content.outlook directory in Temporary Internet Files.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

I looked there, but when I check on my c:\ drive there is not a
content.outlook directory in Temporary Internet Files.

Windows Explorer cannot detect the Outlook Secure Temp folder by browsing.
You must obtain the exact path from the registry and then enter that exact
path into the Windows Explorer Address field in order to have Windows
Explorer open the folder.
