pictures in video

I am taping my 3rd grade class reading their FairyTales. I want to fade in
and out of the video and the pictures they drew of the different scenes. How
do I do this, keeoing their voice throughout?

Have you done a right-click on the clip in the story line and selected "Video
Effects" where there are are lots of things you can do to a clip.

I tried that.... but that just effects the video, it doesn not let me add
pix. I can cut the clip and use it as just audio, but I was hoping there was
an easier way for kids to overlay it on the video.
