Pictures/Images

I can not view the pictures in design view, only in preview mode. In design
view I get the X. Also, if I add a picture, it inserts it as a 39x39 pixel
size.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
PS They all exist in my image folder.

Make sure you have an open web, and that you import the images into the web.
