Pictures are not there

I made a video, saved the project. didn't finished opened it to finish but I
noticed that there are some pictures and there are X there is no picture can
someone please let me know why. Using windows vista.

Movie Maker .mswmm project files do
not include the source files. If the source
files are moved or deleted from their
original locations the links will be lost
and the Red Xs appear.

Try right clicking the Red Xs and see if
you can Browse to the original files and
re-establish the link.

Ok sorry but what do i have to do in order for this not to happen again,
i can't find the missing files I guess I have to insert them again.
i want to know when i work on a video and not finished do I save it as a
project?

For the best result...

All of the the source files should be archived on your
hard drive...not on the net and not on removable media.

Don't move, edit or delete the source files until the project
is totally complete and re-editing is not the faintest
possibility.

When a video is not finished...Yes...save is as a .mswmm
Project File. It's also a good idea to save more than one
version of the project file. IOW...if the project becomes
too complex or corrupted and will not open in Movie Maker...
you can revert to an earlier version and at least not have
to start from scratch.

Thanks alot for the info, I have another question why is that I can't add
transitions on some parts of my video?

This usually occurs when the Transition duration is
the same or greater than the Picture duration. Then
you can only add a transition to every other photo.
