Picture viewing

If i open my pics folder from the start menu and view my folders as the film
strip i don't see the names of the folders on some of them. But if i view my
pictures in explore and have the film strip on i can see the lables of the
folders.
What am I missing?
I did check: View and then Choose Detail and make sure Name is ticked.
It is ticked

What else could it be?

Yep. A view mode available only to folders using the pictures template.
