i'm making a slideshow of photos. is there any way to make it so that the
photo does not fill up the screen? many of the photos have been scanned and
when they are stretched automatically by moviemaker the quality is very bad -
i'd like to keep them smaller.

Are you viewing the slideshow on a
widescreen monitor? Do the images
display correctly when you view them
in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?

No, I do not have a widescreen monitor. When I open up the files in any
other program (including Windows Picture and Fax Viewer) they are fine.

Do you mean they are stretched as in distorted?
Or just enlarged to the point of appearing pixelized?

If you are viewing the images from the timeline
fullscreen they may appear pixelized but this
would not affect the finished movie file.

If the pictures are all odd sizes then you could use your still image
programme to make a background of teh size 768x576 for PAL, then put your
picture on top of this layer and position where you want.
Now save, import into MM and you will have a border around the picture when
viewed.
