I use windows xp home edition and in the windows explorer I used to be able
to rotate my pictures, now it seems that when I click on the rotate picture
button nothing happens. I searched everywhere I could think of for a setting
that might have been accidentally turned off but no success. So, if anyone
knows anything that can be done about it please let me know.

When you rotate an image, a message box should prompt you to indicate
whether you want to see the message each time you rotate and save
an image. To disable the message, select the In the future, do not show
me this dialog box check box.

To reset the message so you are prompted again each time,
press and hold CTRL, and then click the Close button."

Juan,

Type REGSVR32 /i SHIMGVW.DLL in Start/Run dialog. If that does not help, try this tip:

Right-click the image and Preview it.
Now, press and hold down the CTRL key and close Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
You'll see a message stating the following:

---------------------------
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
---------------------------
Any rotation warnings that you may have suppressed have been reset, and may appear again when you rotate a picture.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Close and re-open the folder, try to rotate and image.

Start - Run and run the line
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
