Rotate large pictures

Hi

I can't rotate some of my pictures anymore and I think it might be because
they are too large.

I remember getting messages before, asking me if I was sure I wanted to
rotate large pictures because I could lose some of quality... I'm thinking I
may have said "No" once and selected the "Never ask again" box!? Because now
I don't get the message anymore and some picures just won't rotate, while
others do.

What can I do to fix this and be able to rotate my pictures with Windows
Picture and Fax Viewer again??

Thanks for any help!

I would junk Windows Picture & Fax Viewer and use the freeware
program Irfanview. http://www.irfanview.net/

This is faster, quicker, easier, more configurable and just plain
more versatile than the Windows apps. Did I mention it was FREE? No
nags, no trojans, no spyware, no crap.

You might want to look at Picasa as well which is free, fast and
elegant.

I would also sheepishly admit that sometimes I cannot rotate pictures,
and it is invariably because I had my camera switched to 'video'
rather than 'still'. You can't rotate a video or its thumbnail
(unless you use the extraordinary freeware program VirtualDub, which
is a bit technical and scary, even though it doesn't damage your
original file...) You can do low-quality screengrabs from the video
and rotate those if there's an image in there you really really want.

I am not saying of course that this is your problem. I might be the
only person daft enough to try and rotate an avi.
