Picture & Fax Viewer

Hi,

I use Group Policy to prevent changes to the wallpaper in Windows XP,
however the Picture and Fax viewer still allows this view the context menu.

Is there a way I can disable this feature or disable Picture and Fax Viewer
completely - and if I disable it,will it affect any desktop etc settings
controlled by group policy settings?

I really don't know if it will affect your desktop etc. You can try it and see, the
process can be reversed. Do a system restore point prior to trying.

I've managed to disable it by unregistering the shimgvw.dll component -
however this seems to stop any images opening up correctly in Paint as well
by doubling clicking the icon. Opening by the File menu works OK. Strange -
pity this Picture and Fax Viewer is such an unsupported area as I only
actually need to take off the menu item to set the image as wallpaper!
