I purchase a new P4 Computer running XP home approx 4 wks ago.
I would double click on the JPeg File and it would open in P&FV . Now the
file only opens in Editor mode.
I have tried the following with no luck.

1. Highligted the JPEG, then double Clicked Right mouse and selected P&FV &
Ticked Box to use this application on all JPEGs. Result Failed

2. go to...Start / Run and type:REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL result: Load Library
(“SHIMGVW.DLLâ€) Failed. The system cannot find the specified file

3. go to...Start / Run and type: regsvr32 %windir%\system32\shimgvw.dll
result: Load Library (“C:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dllâ€) Failed. The system
cannot find the specified file

4. went to C:\Windows\System32 & confirmed that the file SHIMGVW.DLL
actually does exists there

5. tried to disable REGSVR32 /U SHIMGVW.DLL, and then enable REGSVR32
SHIMGVW.DLL ....Results Load Library (shimgvw.dll) Failed. The system cannot
find the specified file

6.Ran: rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1,
Result, just made a noise as if to say I can’t find it.

7. i logged on as a 'guest', but this made no difference.

8. I downloaded another copy of P&FV shimgvw.dll from webzilla.com and put
it in System32 file, and remaned the existing file to shimgvw.dllxxx Result
Failed. I also tried the same thing but this time, I got a copy from my work
computer. Result Failed

9. I tried to run Restore Wizard, but Restore failed because it said no
files have been changed so there was nothing to restore.

I would really appreciate some help on this one, please

A response is not required. I have just loaded XP SP2 and it fixed my
stressful problem. I'm v happy now.

Nice to let us know that SP2 solved this problem. Maybe we will not have to
deal with this pesky problem anymore.
